In the West yoga clothing once consisted of gym clothes. However, as yoga became more popular manufacturers made and marketed clothing specifically for yoga practitioners. At first, this clothing was sold in mom and pop shops, but now major companies like Nike market yoga clothing.

Yoga clothing is sold for all parts of the body. Yoga practitioners can buy yoga sandals to help them with their practice. There are also yoga shirts and yoga pants.

Yoga practitioners often belong to the same demographic as environmentalists. Therefore, many marketers and businessmen sell organic yoga clothing. Such clothing is made from materials that do not involve pesticides and must conform to other rules and regulations for making organic products.
